Nuri ÇORBACIOĞLU, AFIAP @nuricorbacioglu
Nuri Çorbacıoğlu is a photographer born into a family of teachers in the Çivril district of Denizli, Turkey. Following the footsteps of his parents, he has completed his bachelor and masters of Geography & History teaching. Throughout his fifteen years of teaching career, he has worked in private educational institutions and classroom-based private tutoring. He has completed his teaching career after working for ten years at TED Kayseri College.
Throughout his career as a teacher, he has also taught photography courses at various universities, which he still offers to this day at Kayseri Nuh Naci Yazgan University, but his real passion remains organizing photography tours, photography organizations and providing consultancy services.
The artist has devoted his life solely to the art of photography and he has embraced a variety of different photography interests which made photography a lifestyle for him.
With his incurable passion for photography for over twenty years, Çorbacıoğlu has partaken into various projects with Turkey’s most known photography artists in Denizli Mehmet Çakır Fotoğraf Sanat Evi where his photography career and interest has started.
The photographer has over 100 awards and has partaken in exhibitions displayed in ten different countries. In 2012, in light of his achievements in photography, he has been honored with the distinction of AFIAP (Artist FIAP) by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).
In 2010 he opened his first solo exhibition “Yaşamdan Seçkiler”, of which he donated all the earnings to charities related to education. In 2018 his second solo exhibition “Güzel Atlar Ülkesi’nden Erciyes’e” was displayed in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality. His photos have been displayed in twenty mixed photography exhibitions. He published a photo album of his third solo exhibition “İki Şehrin Dokusu” which is composed of photographs from the cities of Bursa and Kayseri.
In 2012 he has established ‘‘Kayseri Fotoğraf Sanat Evi’’ with the aim of increasing interest and love for photography in the region.
Among his other activities, the photographer organizes photography tours under the title and concept of “Anadolu’ya Yolculuk’’ and he is a photography tour guide.
Believing that Turkey is a cradle for photography, the photographer has established the biggest photography-related travel agency in Turkey, Cappadocia Photo Tours (https://www.cappadociaphototours.com) and Turkey Photography Tours (https://turkeyphotographytours.com), in order to attract photographers from around the globe to the country.
Directing the “Fotoğrafın Peşinde” (chasing the photo) documentary for BelnIZ TV has equipped Çorbacıoğlu with confidence and experience to continue working in the field as a director, documentary producer and director of photography.
Alongside the full-time photography, lately he has diverted his interest to equine photography. On the international photography arena as well as the national photography circles, he is a well-known and respected equine photographer. His love and passion for horses has played a determining factor in his discovery of Kayseri Yılkı horses and introducing them to the world’s equine photography circles. He has set up equine photography sets near Salt Lake and Cappadocia and has his own herd of horses. The photographer is active on social media including Instagram and he utilizes the merits of social media to introduce Turkish horses to the rest of the world and to share his works and projects about Turkish horses.
